Senator Christopher Dodd of Connecticut is must be getting nervous when he is looking at his reelection chances. He really went all out in steering the money in the Health Care bill to his home state. He is calling in favors, winning sweetheart deals and steering hundreds of millions of dollars to Connecticut.
Dodd has never has been shy about sending money home, but he really went for it this time. According to Taxpayers for Common Sense, Dodd has added 92 earmarks to the Health Care Bill and they are worth at least $121 million. And on top of those earmarks, he apparently has another $100 million going to the University of Connecticut’s Medical Center.
The Republicans have a candidate for those who are sick of Dodd. They just might offer WWF executive Vince McMahon’s Wife as the competition for Dodd’s Senate Seat. So Connecticut might have an “authentic” Senator next time. You can always count on the Republicans to get their act together can’t you?
How does it feel knowing that you have to pay Nebraska’s State Taxes along with special earmarks for Connecticut? By the way, what goodies has your Congressman brought home for you lately?
Luckily President Obama promised that he would never sign a bill with earmarks and this Health Care Bill is setting earmark records. So we are safe from this Bill right??
